Lim Bo Seng

Lim Bo Seng was the school's first superintendent.He was a chinese business man who raised funds to fight Japanese invasion.He fled from Singapore to India/just before its surrender in 1942. He joined Force 136,he was a   British led spy who sabotage organisations.He secretly returned to Malaya to take part in anti-japanese activities.He was betrayed,arrested,jailed and tortured to death in prison in 1944.

Aw Boon Haw

Mr. Aw Boon 

First Chairman of Chung Cheng High School's first Management Board. 

He was a Burmese Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist best known for introducing Tiger Balm. He was the son of Hakka herbalist Aw Chu-Kin, with his ancestral home in Yongding County, Fujian Province, China.

Apparently, he built hospitals, schools, and provided care for the elderly from the late 1920s until his death in 1954. His projects included: hospitals, colleges, and more than 300 primary schools in mainland China and Southeast Asia. Chung Cheng High School was one of the countless of schools he donated to. He also founded newspapers which included the Sing Kong Yih Pao  (Founded in 1935, based at Amoy Street, Singapore), Sing Tao Yih Pao (Founded in 1938, based at Hong Kong , Sing Pin Jih Pao (Founded in 1938, based at Penang), Sing Ming Yih Pao (Founded in 1946, based at Bangkok ) and the Hongkong Tiger Standard and Singapore Tiger Standard (Founded in 1950). This division continued to remain strong in Hong Kong as the Sing Tao group, headed by adopted daughter Sally Aw Sian , until the mid late 1980s when unsuccessful dabbling in real estate and other publishing ventures drained the division's coffers.  In mid-1999, Sally Aw sold controlling shares of Sing Tao to Lazad Fund Asia for HKD$262 million. 

While on a trip to Hong Kong from Boston, US in 1954, Aw died at the age of 72 from a heart attack following a major operation. His legacy is found in the Haw Par Villas throughout Asia, with locations in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Fujian Province of China.

Aw Boon Haw's Personal Life:

Aw's adopted daughter is the Hong Kong businesswoman and former Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference member Sally Aw. Sally Aw squandered the vast fortune and was on the brink of bankruptcy. Tiger Balm Gardens and the Aw Boon-Haw Gardens in Hong Kong were sold to the territory's billionaire, Li Ka-Shing, for US$13 million in 1998. Aw also founded several newspapers, including Sin Chew Jit Poh and Guang Ming Daily, which are both based in Malaysia today; and Sing Tao Daily, which dates back to 1938 and is currently based in Hong Kong. Aw moved to Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation of Singapore and managed the business from there, while his brother stayed in Singapore until he closed down the factory and went to Rangoon.

The daughter of Aw Boon-Haw and his fourth wife, Aw Seng (胡星), is currently residing in Singapore and has set up a company under her father's name, Aw Boon Haw Pte Ltd, to continue the heritage and legacy of her father. Aw Seng died on 10 April 2012 in Vancouver aged 100.

Zhuang Zhu Lin

The school's name in English was Shiang Kai Sek Secondary School. The founding principal of the school was Zhuang Zhulin and the school's first school supervisor was war hero Lim Bo Seng. The school's founding Chairman of the School Management Board was Aw Boon Haw. Students came from as far as Thailand and the Philippines. Following the Japanese occupation of Singapore in 1942, the school was forced to stop classes.

Zhu Lin Building is the main building of Chung Cheng and is named officially after someone called Zhuang Zhulin. Dr Zhuang Zhulin is the founding principal and also the principal of Nanyang University. After World War 2, he was re-appointed principal. Zhuang Zhulin live from 1939-1957. This building, which was named after him, house the Grand Auditorium now. The Grand Auditorium was the largest in the Southeast Asia when it opened. Now, there is a statue outside the Grand Auditorium, or most known as the Grand Audi. He was the longest serving school principal.
